Privacy Policy

Who this policy covers

This policy covers Traveling with You, the indie game studio, and every game and website operated under the Traveling with You brand. Current games include Farkle with You, Settling with You, Absorb with You, Merging with You, Dungeon Dice, the Games with You collection, and any future games we ship. The policy applies whether you play in a web browser, install a native mobile app, or use the offline-first PWA.

What we collect

The studio collects only what is necessary to give you a real product. Most data is generated and stored locally on your device. Cloud collection happens only after you sign in and only for the purposes listed below.

Always (local to your device)

• Anonymous device player ID created on your first launch. Used to remember your stats and preferences on this device. Never tied to your identity unless you choose to sign in.
• Game statistics: wins, losses, achievements, XP, streaks. Stored in your browser or app's local storage so you can pick up where you left off.
• Game settings: themes, sounds, accessibility preferences. Stored locally.
• Relationship metadata: per-pair head-to-head records, trips you have tagged, optional friendly stakes between paired players. Stored locally; only synced to the cloud if you sign in.

Only if you sign in (cloud)

• Email address from Google or Apple when you tap "Sign in with Google" or "Sign in with Apple." Used to identify your account across devices and to send the rare account-related email (for example, a confirmation when you delete your account).
• Display name, either provided by Google or Apple, or one you set yourself. Optional. Defaults to your anonymous device ID if you do not choose one.
• Country, asked once during account setup. Used for compliance with regional rules. Optional to refine; we default to a coarse region inference.
• Your game data that you have chosen to sync: stats, XP, achievements, relationship metadata, stakes, and per-game preferences.

Only if you opt in

• Public leaderboards or trusted-circle leaderboards: appear only in games that have them and require an explicit toggle. Off by default.
• Patch-note emails: occasional updates about a game you have signed in to. Off by default.
• Feedback you send us through an in-game feedback flow. We receive what you type plus the game and version you sent it from. We do not attach feedback to your account unless you ask us to.

What we do not do

• We do not sell your data to anyone, ever.
• We do not run advertising. There are no ads in gameplay and no ad-tech SDKs.
• We do not use tracking pixels, fingerprinting, or behavioral profiling.
• We do not embed third-party analytics SDKs that collect identifying data.
• We do not share your data with anyone except the OAuth provider you used to sign in (only during the sign-in handshake itself) and our infrastructure provider (Cloudflare) for the limited purpose of operating the service.

Sign-in with Google and Apple

If you choose to sign in:

• Google Sign-In uses Google Identity Services. Google sees the sign-in handshake. Google's handling of that handshake is governed by Google's Privacy Policy.
• Apple Sign-In uses Apple Sign in with Apple. Apple sees the sign-in handshake and may issue a relay email if you choose to hide your real address. Apple's handling is governed by Apple's Privacy Policy.

From the provider, we receive only:

• Your email address (or a relay address in the case of Apple)
• Your name as provided by the OAuth provider
• A stable subject identifier (the OAuth sub claim) used to link sessions to your account

We do not request, receive, or store any other data from your Google or Apple account.

How your data is stored

• Locally: in your browser's or app's local storage. This data never leaves your device unless you sign in and turn on cloud sync.
• In our cloud (optional, only after sign-in): in a Cloudflare D1 database operated by the studio. Access is mediated by the twu-accounts Cloudflare Worker. All traffic between your device and the cloud is encrypted in transit over HTTPS and authenticated with short-lived JWT tokens.

How we use your data

Strictly to operate the games and services you have asked for. Concretely:

• Cross-device sync, so a game you start on your phone is waiting on your tablet.
• Cross-game identity, so one account works across every Traveling with You game.
• Per-pair stats, so head-to-head records with the people you regularly play with are accurate.
• Optional leaderboards in the games that include them, only when you opt in.
• Replying to feedback you send us, if you want a reply.
• Diagnosing problems and improving game quality on an anonymous, aggregate basis. We do not profile individual players.

Sub-processors

The studio relies on a small number of third parties to operate. Each is bound by its own privacy and security obligations.

• Cloudflare hosts our websites, multiplayer signaling Workers, the twu-accounts Worker, and our D1 database. Cloudflare acts as a sub-processor for data hosting and traffic delivery.
• Google processes the sign-in handshake when you choose Google Sign-In.
• Apple processes the sign-in handshake when you choose Apple Sign-In.
• Airtable stores in-game feedback submissions if you choose to send feedback.

We do not use any other third parties to handle your data.

Multiplayer

When you play a multiplayer game, your device may connect directly to your partner's device using WebRTC. A small signaling Worker brokers the initial connection but does not store gameplay content. Once the connection is established, game state is exchanged peer-to-peer between players' devices.

Your rights

You have full control over your data. From any game's Settings → Account & Privacy:

• Export: download a JSON file of everything we have stored that is associated with your account.
• Delete: permanently delete your account and every record we have stored. This action is irreversible. Local data on each device is also cleared. After a short reconciliation window, no record of your account remains in our cloud.
• Withdraw consent: turn off cloud sync, turn off public or trusted-circle leaderboards, turn off patch-note emails, individually, at any time.
• Stop syncing without deleting: turn off cloud sync to keep your local data intact while detaching from the cloud.

If you cannot complete a request through Settings, write to support@traveling-with-you.com and we will help.

Children's privacy

Our games are designed for all ages. Sign-in is never required. We do not knowingly request, collect, or process behavioral or advertising data from children. If you are a parent or guardian and you believe a child under 13 has created an account, write to support@traveling-with-you.com and we will delete the account and associated data without requiring a formal request.

Security

We protect your data with HTTPS everywhere, JWT authentication on all account endpoints, scoped tokens with short lifetimes, encryption in transit, and a small attack surface (no servers we operate ourselves, no on-call databases outside Cloudflare's managed services). We do not store passwords; sign-in is handled by Google or Apple. No system is perfectly secure, but we operate with a single-purpose, minimal-data design intended to reduce exposure.

Data retention

We retain account data while your account is active. If you delete your account, we delete its records from our cloud within a short reconciliation window. We retain feedback submissions for as long as is useful to address them, then archive or delete them.

International users

The studio operates from the United States. If you use our games from elsewhere, your data is processed in the United States and in Cloudflare's global edge network. By using the games and signing in, you consent to this processing.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. The "Last updated" date at the top reflects the most recent revision. Material changes will be highlighted in-game or by email if you have opted in to patch-note emails.

Who we are

Traveling with You is a small indie game studio. The studio operates as OpsScaler LLC for legal and tax purposes. The studio is a single-operator business committed to making games worth sharing, without ads, without dark patterns, and without selling your data.
